Almost every flagship phone can take a superb photo. But that did not prevent Xiaomi from continuing its partnership with the legendary creator of Leica cameras to produce a photo power in the new Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
Powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, it goes without saying that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra has first -rate specifications. It also has a huge battery of 6,000 mAh, which is larger than anything you get from Apple, Google or Samsung. During this time, with regard to the load, the wired speeds go up to 90 watts or simply more slowly to 80 wireless watts, which is not an easy task. And unlike most phones sold in the United States, it comes with an electric adapter in the box.
Elsewhere, the 15 Ultra has a magnificent 6.7 -inch amied screen with a cooling rate from 1 to 120 Hz and up to 3,200 brightness. It is also available in three colors: a white model with a engraved back, black with an almost rubber finish and a special silver chrome edition that is inspired by some of the old -fashioned cameras of Leica. I appreciate that the white model that I tested has subtle distance sculpted behind its back that shine in the sun. But let’s be honest, that the two -tone metal and the black are easily attractive in the group because it really looks at what this phone does best.
At the rear, there is a solid circular circular camera module of which normally I am not a big fan of my use on rival devices like the OnePlus 13. However, on this device, it is more than just a centerpiece because inside is a serious photo equipment. The 23 mm equivalent main camera of ultra 15 mm uses a Sony sensor of 50 megapixels of 1 solid inch. Then, for things like extensive landscapes, there is an ultra -id cam F / 2.2 50 MP. But that does not stop there because there is not one but two zoom lenses: a mid -range shooter 50MP with a focal length of 70 mm plus a 200MP Super -resolution periscope network with a 100 mm focal distance (which is equivalent to an optical zoom of 4.7x).
Now, I have not had much time to put it completely to the test, but from what I have seen so far, the Xiaomi Ultra 15 has one of the most complete photo tool kits. There are Leica optics with large sensors and objectives that cover almost all the focal lengths you would need daily. And on the software side, there are Leica preset filters as dynamic or authentic to really lead the collaboration to the house between the two brands.
That said, one of the things that impresses me the most is that Xiaomi has even created a separate photography kit which includes a complementary camera handle with a physical shutter, an adjustable dial and a dedicated video button. There is also a case that allows you to fix a standard 67 mm filter adapter. This means that, assuming that you have the right equipment, you can take part of the same glass as you use on your real camera and use it with Ultra 15. And it is not only a reflection afterwards without enthusiasm, because the kit is also delivered with bonuses like a handbang, a decorative lens ring and two different removable capes for its shutter.
In particular, unlike certain Chinese phones like those of Huawei, the Xiaomi handsets always have access to Google services, so that you can download applications from the Play Store. Even the hyperos 2 of the company are a relatively minimalist Android skin that looks good and is easy to use. And although this model is available globally from around € 850, unfortunately, there is no official plan to bring it to the United States, which is really a shame because no one really sells combined like this in America.
