Evil geniusesThe well-known Esports organization and brand, launched its MEESH AI cat-cat in partnership with Thêtaise laboratories.
Evil Genius, the world champion of the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) 2023, launched the textual chatbot built by Theta Labs, a supplier of decentralized cloud infrastructure for AI, media and entertainment.
The new AI chatbot has been personalized to give life to the personality of the kind creature, allowing fans to interact with Meesh in various ways, including speeches of memes, trivia challenges, personalized interactions and much more.
“The EEG has always been a pioneer in AI space, from 2021 and 2022. We have helped to bring money to Esport, using scientists to build AI tools and advanced algorithms to enlighten talents around the world and help define winning strategies,” said Chris Deappolonio CEO An interview with Gamesbeat. “We won a business newspaper sports award because of this in 2022 and continued this work through our competitive teams, especially on the Vaillor.”
He added: “We are always looking for ways to use technology to empower the champions every day, be it our own players, be it our fans, whether it is people here at EEG, and for us, you know, we, we have gathered this year because we have also launched Eeg’s First Critter.”
(Other people would call this a mascot). Meesh is a servant.
“And each evil genius needs his own servant,” said Deappolonio. “After in -depth work with discussion groups of our fans, we helped theta to create an IP, a Meesh Creteur, which is malicious.”
Meesh is fully integrated into Evil Genuses Discord Server and the official website, giving fans the opportunity to ask them questions about all evil geniuses, at any time of the day. Thanks to Theta Edgecloud, Meesh will use AI to answer community questions that include things such as the game calendar, the team classification, information and the history of alignments, players’ statistics and the highlights of the past, as well as the provision of emblematic EG EG moments.
Fans will also be able to participate in exclusive gifts, community events and find the latest news on the organization.
“Our team from Evil Genius worked directly with the TheTA team to create a chatbot AI which is a real representation of the personality that we have planned for Meesh when we started to imagine our digital animal before their launch last year,” said Kayci Evans, responsible for marketing and global partnerships at Evil Genius, in a press release. “Now, with the help of Theta, this personality is fully exposed and we could not be more satisfied with the results. Our fans can now fully engage with Meesh to find out more about our history, ask what is happening for evil geniuses or simply chat with Meesh for personal interaction.”

Evil Geniuses Theta Partnership is the first of the more exciting partnerships to come for the organization, because it emphasizes the search for new and unique ways for fans to immerse themselves in the events of evil geniuses.
Deappolonio said Meesh gives fans another point of contact to engage with the brand. The company has packed Meesh with a personality and built a scenario and traffic around the creature as a person with which fans can interact.
Although Meesh is not so at the forefront of being able to speak with the fans, he can take dactylographed questions from the fans and answer it with textual answers. Meesh is also animated in a way that makes the character more credible. There are Easter eggs in AI’s responses for passionate fans. Meesh is also integrated into the Discord community for evil geniuses.
“We want Meesh to come and live for our fans, to really make mesh feel alive and unique as they are,” said Deappolonio. “As a character, Meesh is quite non -verbal. Meesh speaks in sounds and in creaky, but can type. When fans hit questions, Meesh can answer with a dialogue.”
Meesh’s personality is strong and reproduces what we believe that our fans connect, their hobbies and their interests and all these things. In a demo, Kayci Evans, World Marketing Manager at Evil Genius, took me to the environment of Meesh’s Lair, who is very artistic. The demo did not work so well at the beginning, but Meesh started to answer after a little. Meesh can answer questions like where evil geniuses will then play in his global program and he can say inside the jokes that fans get.
Evans said: “We have updated and downloaded the profiles of all our players in AI to make sure that Meesh really felt as part of the team and could teach fans what our team does during their free time. You can ask me for advice and it can tell you about games or other traditions on the brand.

Evil geniuses had to make sure that Meesh would not write anything inappropriate. It is not an easy thing to protect against, since fans have undoubtedly probe such vulnerabilities in Meesh. Theta had experience in work with other NHL teams to make similar systems that could manage toxicity.
“This is something we continue to watch,” said Deappolonio.
“We have created Easter eggs for fans who want to get involved in a different way and lead them on a path of exploration and pleasure while getting to know the personality of our brand in a way that is really unique,” said Evans. “The most fun part was to grow our partner, Theta, in more creative directions. We have an excellent partner in TheTA which is ready to explore how to make it more unique and creative. ”
All this occurs in a context where AI has polarized for the Esports industry. Some consider AI as something that could potentially remove people’s work, but the company considers it to allow people to do their work in a more creative way.
“AI has been a way to improve our gameplay, to improve the way we compete and scout talents around the world, especially because the games are based on data, and we can get millions and millions of players and assess and determine who could be great, whatever their experience and where they come from,” said Deappolonio. “This AI allows us to connect and get involved with fans in a way that we couldn’t be every day.”

Evans said the costs to make chatbots using AI have decreased considerably, allowing the company to do something with cloud calculations and storage costs. AI is a new border, but it is the one in which evil geniuses believe and want to be a pioneer, said Deappolonio.
“We want to make sure that we use technology to improve our business and make informed decisions and provide attractive content to our fans, where we can do everything for creativity and opportunity for amateurs and eSports to also rely on our platforms,” he said.
As for the state of Esports itself, Deappolonio said: “I feel much better in the industry these days. We have continued growing on the audience for the Vaillor, which is the game we are currently playing. We won the world championship in 2023. Since an EEG perspective, our sales of goods have been considerably up, 250% of one year in the year. Our average video views are up 40% of a year over a year. “
He added: “We are going upwards. We see higher engagement rates, having many more conversations with the brands now than we have had in recent years. I would not say that it is pre-countryic levels when esports was at the highest, but winter Esports has the impression of starting to end.”
