Russian chief Vladimir Putin offered President Donald Trump in March, a portrait showing the moment when Trump pumped his fist in the air in challenge after surviving an assassination attempt last year.
While points of sale previously pointed out the gift as a mystery portrait, the Russian painter has now revealed the details of his work, according to a Russian embassy.
Artist Nikas Safronov said he had created painting in the hope that works of art would strengthen American-Russia ties, the Russian Embassy in Kenya said in an article on X.
The painting represents Trump who pumps his fist in the air while the other hand holds a red cap similar to the famous Trump Maga bake. The American flag and the statue of freedom are distributed on the bottom, and the blood is splashed on the president’s face.

“It was important for me to show blood, the scar and her bravery during the attempt of her life,” said Safronov said to cnn. “He has not broken down or scary, but raised his arm to show that he is one with America and will bring back what he deserves.”
Painting is an illustration of a dramatic photo that captured the moment when Trump survived an assassination attempt during a presidential campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024.

Safronov has painted many world figures, including the late Pope Francis and Kim Jong Un’s Kim Un’s. He said at the point of sale that he had “visited people who said they wanted me to paint Trump as I see”.
While Safronov said he didn’t know who visitors were, adding that some customers “do not go into detail”, he suspected that it was the Kremlin, reported the point of sale.
“When I started the portrait, I realized that it could bring our countries together and I decided not to charge money because I suspected what this painting was for,” said the artist.

The table was given to Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, in March, when the official was in Moscow looking for a ceasefire in the three-year war between Russia and Ukraine, reported the Associated Press, citing the spokesperson for Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
AP said Witkoff described the work of art as a “beautiful” portrait by “a leading Russian artist” and added that Trump was “clearly touched by her”.

While Trump and Putin worked to strengthen their relationship, tensions on Ukraine’s invasion by Moscow continues to simmer between the three countries.
Russia recently beat kyiv with missiles and drones overnight and killed at least 10 people in the largest attack on the Ukrainian capital this year. The attack on April 24 caused a rare reprimand of Trump who said “Vladimir, stop!”
