The founder of Info Edge Sanjeev Bikhchandani, in an article on X, revealed how the labyrinth of India quietly shapes the starting behavior. “If you are mowing and you are starting out in the fourth quarter, you do the work but you incorporate on April 1,” he wrote, making it as a life advice from “Swami Compliciceananda.”
The goal? Delay income tax files and audit costs of an entire year – a small hacking in a system where each roupie counts. It is a decision as old as the uncertain birth dates with which many Indians have grown up, and as relevant today as when Naukri.com discreet it online a few weeks before April 1, 1997, he wrote.
Bikhchandani’s post was not only on paperwork hacks. It was also a walk in memory – and a tribute to the curious coincidence of April 1 being the launching day of some of the most sustainable technological companies in India.
“Naukri was launched on April 1, 1997,” he wrote. “Indiamart was launched a year earlier on April 1, 1996 and Makemytrip three years later on April 1, 2000 if I remember correctly. This is the twenty -fifth anniversary of Makemytrip – Congratulations [sic]. “”
He added: “It’s like in the past that you did not know your date of birth. You have taken the date of birth like what your father said to school when he admitted to you. My father’s official birth date was May 2, 1926. However, he estimated that his date of birth would have been 18 months earlier. ”
The position sparked a wave of reactions from start -up observers and internet veterans.
“The 3 creators of categories and have survived for more than 2 decades and prosperous is a rare feat in itself [sic]”, Noted a user.
Another joked: “April 1 should be the national day of startups in this case. Interesting fact [sic]. “”
Others celebrated the long -standing impact of companies: “Congratulations Naukri, Makemytrip and Indiamart have gone a long way in the Internet industry in India [sic]. “”
“The survival rate of online companies launched on April 1 is very high [sic]”Added another.
Bikhchandani himself also attracted admiration. “You are a master Johari to pick up gems,” said a user, referring to his first bets on Zomato, Makemytrip and Policybazaar. “Master of technological business creation … How did you do this regularly would be good to know that. Cheers and many others come [sic]. “”
