Manchester City won a 2-1 dramatic victory against Aston Villa thanks to the winner of Matheus Nunes in time, keeping their Champions League hopes for a big boost.
The match started at a dizzying speed, Marcus Rashford almost giving Villa a shock lead in the first 20 seconds, taking a tour of the post with a low disc.
But it was City who struck first. In the 7th minute, after a good work by Omar Marmoush on the right, Bernardo Silva jumped on a deviated cup and fired that Emiliano Martinez failed to prevent, putting the hosts back on an early advantage.
Villa replied very quickly. A VAR examination on the 17 -minute brand saw Ruben Dias penalized for stirring Jacob Ramsey in the box. Rashford clashed against the huts of the Etihad crowd and coldly embarrassed the ball in front of Stefan Ortega to level the score.
The rest of the first half was alive, the two parties creating opportunities. Ortega denied Rashford at close range, while the control of the possession of the city forced the villa to sit deeply.
City came out dominant in the second half, pepper the villa box with corners and crosses. Kevin de Bruyne’s deliveries were a constant threat, although the chances were begged for Josko Gvardiol and McATEE.
