The mother of a woman from Maryland who was brutally raped and murdered by an illegal immigrant in 2023 said that she thought that justice was done after her daughter’s killer was found guilty by a jury on Monday before the County Court of Harford.
Patty Morin, the mother of Rachel Morin, 37, spoke with the host of Fox News, Sean Hannity, after Victor Martinez-Hernandez was found guilty On all the heads of first degree murder, first degree rape, a third degree sexual offense and kidnappings.
“So when we heard the verdict, it was very sad because we had to live again and see everything my daughter suffered. But then, at the same time, we were convinced that it was the murderer and that justice was done,” she said.

Rachel Morin was attacked and killed by Martinez-Hernandez while she was on the Ma & Pa Heritage Trail in Bel Air in August 2023.
The office of the Harford county’s state prosecutor said that the mother of five had been brutally beaten and raped by immigrant Salvadoran who was finally apprehended in Tulsa, Okla, months after his murder.
Patty Morin described the death of her daughter in horrible details, saying “Hannity” that Martinez-Hernandez denounced the head of Rachel that she looked like a crushed eggshell.

“She literally had bruises, bruises, scratching on her whole body. The murderer dragged him 150 meters while the blood gushed from his head in the tunnel. And then he put it against the wall of the tunnel and raped it. And you could see his body, and you see the outline of the blood of its head,” said Patty. “So you see the outline of his body and blood on the walls of the tunnel.”

She said that she was angry with the Biden administration for the death of her daughter and said that former president Joe Biden had not called to offer condolences.
“There was no action on the Democratic Party in any way, by Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, [Alejandro] Mayorkas, anyone here in Maryland. None of the senators did nothing to help seek my daughter’s murderer, “said Patty, adding that she had received a call from Governor Wes Moore, D-MD.
Senator Chris Van Hollen, d-md., published a declaration Tuesday on the conviction of Martinez-Hernandez, saying that the verdict “brings a measure of justice” that the family deserves.
Patty said her grandchildren had trouble after putting the murder of their mother during the trial.

One of her granddaughters spoke and started to cry when she remembered the last time she had spoken to her mother.
“You heard her when she got out of the courtroom after her testimony, and she couldn’t contain him anymore. She was sobbing so hard. It was just, it was so heartbreaking,” said Patty Morin.

Martinez-Hernandez should be sentenced and may risk prison without the possibility of parole.
