TD Jakes descends
Bishop TD Jakes made a monumental announcement to his congregation on Sunday, April 27, revealing that he will withdraw as the main pastor of Potter’s house and passing the baton from management to her daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts, and her husband, Touré Roberts. This decision marks a historic transition for the mega-church, which Mgr Jakes founded in 1996 and has become more than 30,000 members.
The decision comes as Mgr Jakes explained his desire to focus on the resolution of “major economic problems” and to position the nation for a stronger future by serving as a bridge between the community, culture and corporate alliances.
