Hunter Biden abandoned the trial he brought against two internal revenue service in September 2023 on Wednesday.
Biden lawyers presented a request before the American district court for the District of Columbia in order to reject the trial with prejudice, which means that the case cannot be brought to any court.
The trial, initially filed by the former first son two years ago, alleged that IRS special agent, Gary Shapley, and the Criminal investigator of IRS, Joseph Ziegler, had “targeted and sought to embarrass” Hunter Biden by statements to the media which revealed the details of the tax questions of a “private citizen”.

Shapley and Zielger testified before the chamber’s supervisory committee at the start of the year, saying that they had faced various limits when they were responsible for investigating the son of former president Joe Biden.
“It has always been clear that the trial was an attempt to intimidate us,” said Shapley and Zielger in a statement after Hunter Biden abandoned the case, according to the New York Post. “Intimidation and reprisals would never work. We really wanted our day to the court providing the complete story, but it seems that Mr. Biden is afraid to fight this case in court after all.”
“His voluntary rejection of the case tells you everything you need to know about who was right and who was wrong,” they added.
The lawyers of the two denunciators first underlined how Hunter Biden “rejected his case with prejudices – which means that he can never bring him back”, and did it “in exchange for nothing at all”.

“Hunter Biden brought this prosecution against two honorable federal agents in retaliation for whistling the preferential treatment given to him,” said lawyers, according to the position.

Four of the lawyers of Hunter Biden – Abbe David Lowell, Christopher Man, David Kolansky and Isabella Oishi – moved to withdraw as advice from the former first son about a month ago.
The Ministry of Justice has been investigating Hunter Biden for several years for possible tax crimes when the Shapley lawyers sent a letter to the congress alleging “irregularities” in the treatment of the MJ of the survey, and he met with CBS News In May 2023 on his decision to whistle.

Hunter Biden then pleaded guilty in September 2024 to the nine federal tax accusations brought against him by the Special Council David Weiss. It was determined that Biden did not pay $ 1.4 million in taxes from 2016 to 2019. He then reimbursed this.
