Openai is currently in “difficult negotiation” with its largest investor and partner, Microsoft, According to the Financial Times.
The AI startup recently announced a major change to its corporate restructuring plans – when it always aims to convert its commercial arm to a public public service company, its non -profit board of directors will remain in control.
The FT says that it has spoken to several sources that describe Microsoft, which has invested $ 13 billion in Openai to date, as a key opinion necessary to approve the restructuring.
Although the node of negotiation is the quantity of equity that Microsoft will receive in the new for -profit entity, companies would also have renegotiate their wider contract, with Microsoft offering to give up part of its capital in exchange for access to OPENAI technology developed after the current limit of 2030.
