Joe Cole said that Arsenal had missed a tour by not signing the Bournemouth Evanilson striker last summer. He joined Porto cherries for a reported fee of 40 million pounds sterling in 2024.
Since then, he has played 28 Premier League appearances, obtaining 10 goals and five assists. Affirming that he could have competed for the golden boot if the Brazilian had been with the Gunners, Cole told the cottage podcast (via football365):
“I like him. If you put him in the Arsenal team, I think he’s in competition for the golden boot.”
“At the start of the season, they did not go for an attacker and it’s almost as if they were waiting for the perfect. Why are you not released and don’t make an offer on Evanilson?”
He added:
“If Evanilson was in Arsenal, they are immediately a stronger team. I think it adds ten goals and it’s seven or eight points, then the league is much closer and you don’t know what can happen.”
“I just think they missed something with this kid. I think his movement is fantastic.”
The Gunners have experienced difficulties in the position of the new number due to injuries. Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus missed the last part of this campaign due to fitness problems, which prompted Mikel Arteta to deploy Mikel Merino in the role.
Surprisingly, the Spanish international has succeeded quite well, taking eight goals in competitions.
Gary Neville gives Arsenal a chance to return to PSG in the semi-final of Legaue Champions

The legend of Manchester United, Gary Neville, thinks that Arsenal can come from 1-0 to beat Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
However, it will be difficult to achieve this feat at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening May 07. To claim that fans of French outfit could become nervous, he told Sky Sports:
“Arsenal had a chance on Wednesday. It’s a completely different game, it goes without saying. But you can go and cause shocks.”
“I went there several times and I saw Real Madrid win there and I saw Manchester United win there. PSG becomes very nervous if bad things happen for them in this stadium.”
The Gunners do not enter this game with the best shape. They lost their last Premier League 2-1 match against Bournemouth and attracted 2-2 with Crystal Palace in this competition before that.
