An oil tanker fronting the United States wearing fuel to the jet was struck by a cargo cargo in the northern sea off the coast of eastern England on Monday, triggering several explosions, set fire to the two ships and sending fuel to water, said officials. A boss of the English port said that there was said that there was “a ball of massive fire” after the collision.
Several hours after the collision, the owner of the Cargo said that a crew member had disappeared. The efforts to locate the missing crew member were underway, the Ernst Russ, based in Germany, in a press release.
Earlier, the local legislator Graham Stuart said that British transport secretary Heidi Alexander, 37 crew members was on the two ships, with a hospitalized and the 36 other sailors in security and taken into account.
Where did the ships collided at the North Sea?
Crowley Maritime, which operates the carrier of flambé chemicals and oils in the United States, MV STENA IMMACULATE, said that the oil tanker was anchored in the northern sea off the coast of Hull, about 155 miles north of London, when it was struck by the fraudulent container carrier Portugal Solong.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s office said the details of the collision and its cause “still become clear”. Abdul Khalique, head of the John Moorepool University Center in Liverpool, said that he seemed that the Cargo crew had not “maintained a living room appropriate by the radar”, as required by international maritime regulations.
The Immaculate STENA was at anchoring near the port of Grimsby, according to the vessefinder ship’s monitoring site. The Solong was sailing from Grangemouth in Scotland to Rotterdam in the Netherlands. According to the BBC, the Immaculate STENA was on the way to Agio Theodoroi in Greece in Killingholme in the United Kingdom
This is one of the 10 oil tankers enlisted in an American government program designed to provide the armed forces in fuel in times of armed conflict or national emergency, the BBC reported. A cargo reservoir on the ship containing fuel with spray is broken, fuel leak and a fire broke, said Crowley.

“The Immaculate STENA crew abandoned the ship after several explosions on board,” said Crowley. “All Crowley’s sailors are safe and entirely taken into account.”
The company said that it was working with the authorities to contain the fire and secure the ship.
Stuart said it was concerned about “the potential ecological impact” of the spill, the cause of which was studied by the management of the UK’s marine accident survey.
Meanwhile, the Lloyd’s List Intelligence commercial information service said the cargo cargo transported 15 containers in chemical sodium cyanide. He was not immediately clear if one of the containers was damaged.

An American official confirmed that the STENA Immaculate transported cargoes in support of the Ministry of Defense, reported Charlie d’Agata, the main national security correspondent of CBS News. The collision has no impact on operations or will not prepare you for combat preparation, said the manager.
Martyn Boyers, director general of the port of Grimsby East, said that 13 victims had been interrupted on a high -speed ship of Windcat 33, followed by 19 others on a portable pilot boat. He said he was informed of the fire ball after the collision.
“It’s too far for us to see – about 10 miles – but we saw the ships bring them,” he said. “They had to send a Mayday. Fortunately, there was already a crew transfer ship. Since then, there has been a flotilla of ambulances to pick up anyone who can find.”
Erik Hanell, CEO of Stetena Immaculate’s co -owner, Stena Bulk, told the BBC News that the ship’s crew was made up of more than 20 people.
The British maritime agency and Coast Guard said that the alarm had been lifted at 9:48 a.m. local time (5:48 a.m. Hae).
The Coast Guard said that several rescue canoes and a coastal guard rescue helicopter had been sent to the North Sea, as well as a nearby coast guard plane with a fire fighting capacity.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution said: “It has been reported that a number of people had abandoned the ships after a collision and that there were fires on both ships.” He said three rescue canoes were working on research and rescue on the spot alongside the Coast Guard.
Video sequences broadcast by BBC News And apparently filmed from a neighboring ship has shown thick black smoke with the two ships.
Greenpeace said that she was “extremely concerned” by the collision, which took place in a very busy fishing field and near the large colonies of sea birds.
“While more and more information appears on what ships transported, we are extremely concerned about the multiple toxic risks that these chemicals could pose in marine life,” said Paul Johnston, principal scientist of Greenpeace research laboratories at the University of Exeter.
Scientists said the environmental impact could be less serious than with a heavier crude oil.
“While the images seem worrying, from the point of view of the impact on the aquatic environment, this is less worrying than if it had been crude oil because most of the jet fuel will evaporate very quickly,” said Mark Hartl of the Center for Marine Biodiversity and Biotechnology at the Heriot-Watt University of Scotland.
Mark Sephton, professor of biological geochemistry at the Imperial College in London, said that jet fuel is disintegrated faster than crude oil and that warmer temperatures also accelerate biodegradation.
“In the end, it all depends on the rate of fuel introduction and the destruction rate by bacteria,” he said. “Hopefully the latter will win.”
