The founder of Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy, revealed that the US government had contacted him a position in his ranks.
Portnoy described the call he received from someone in government as “bizarre” in a video published on his X.
He said he mentioned the call he had received during an appearance with Stuart Varney from Fox News and Fox Business but “nobody has been careful”.

But although he is not interested in work, he found a great requirement to be quite strange.
“I received a call, I don’t know, a few months ago? I don’t know when I received the call,” said Portnoy. “It was like ‘hey, you would have an interest, Dave, to join the Ministry of Commerce – Secretary of Commerce under [Howard] Lutnick, or the guy who works under him.

“But a warning to join the government is that someone should lead Barstool. You cannot run the bar-SOOL and work for the government. I assume that Elon [Musk] Does not have a specific title, but you want your CEO a little with the eye on the ball, right? “”
Before explaining the call, Portnoy raised a question about Musk’s work as CEO of Tesla while exercising its functions with DOGE, government efficiency department, during the Trump administration.

“The only thing I wonder with Elon, he is Tesla’s CEO, obviously, and he does all these things Doge, which, I think, is good,” said Portnoy. “Do you get rid of government waste, I’m for that. But how do you run Tesla when you work on Doge 24/7?”
To return to the call he received, Portnoy said that it was nothing more than that.
“By the way, even if I wanted to do it, they never followed,” he said. “They said to themselves,” Let us know if you could find someone to execute Barstool and are interested in it. If you are interested, we will plan a call in a week for the next steps. “It never happened, so it was weird.”

Portnoy seems to have no interest in not being able to manage Barstool Sports, which he founded in 2003 and joined a very successful media brand.
Meanwhile, on March 3, Doge said he saved $ 105 billion since Musk & Co. explored lease connections, contract cancellations and more.
