Newcastle United says that manager Eddie Howe is “in the best possible hands” while he recovers from pneumonia in the hospital.
Howe, 47, missed the 4-1 victory on Sunday against Manchester United and will also miss Wednesday’s match against Crystal Palace, without fixed date for his return.
The assistant Jason Tindall will again take the team at St James’ Park against the Eagles.
He said: “We know that Eddie is in the best possible hands and he will be back as soon as he feels that he is ready to return to 100% to lead the team.
“Of course, your health is the most important thing and that is why it is so important that when Eddie decides to come back, he comes back and is able to direct the team as he is day after day, completely recovered. And I’m sure he will do it.

“We shared some text messages yesterday. The most important thing for the manager is now to rest and recover and probably not worry too much than to make sure that he is recovering as quickly as possible.
“I hope we can have it here as our chef as soon as possible, but only when he is 100% reason to do it.”
Jason Tindall on Sandro Tonali:
“From the point of view of football, we did a lot of research on Sandro [before he signed]. We liked it as a footballer, technically and tactically. But it is only when you work with him so closely that you realize how exceptional he is and he is … pic.twitter.com/0alzsqnwe7

Newcastle would move over Nottingham Forest in third from the Premier League table with victory on Wednesday, but Palace is sentenced to European football themselves after a good form of form.
Tindall said: “We only think of the preparations for tomorrow evening to offer a performance that we know that we have to deliver to be good enough to win the game.
“We know that Crystal Palace is fantastic. On Saturday was only their second loss on the road in 15 games. They do not concede too many goals. It will be a really difficult challenge for us. It is a dangerous side.
“But if we can go out and offer performance like weekends, I hope it will greatly help us to get the points we want.”
