Arsenal has perhaps been treated disturbing transfer news today because it is now reported that the Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi favors a move to Real Madrid.
The Gunners have long watched the favorites to sign the Spanish international, but he may now have changed his mind on his future.
Although the Athletic reported this week that sources from Real Madrid saw Zubimenddi join Arsenal this summer, there has now been another update.
According to the reliable journalist Santi Aouna, publishing on his official account on X, Zubimendi now prefers to move to the Bernabeu after the club has personally explained their plans for him …

Zubimenddi shone during his stay at La Liga and it is easy to see him be a success for a variety of large clubs across Europe.
Arsenal would surely be a good choice for him, but he could also have a key role injecting a little more quality on the ball in this Madrid midfielder.
Does Real Madrid need Martin Zubimenddi more than Arsenal?
After being eliminated from the Champions League by Arsenal this week, Real may well need Zubimenddi to come and give them something new in the midfield.
The Mikel Arteta team is already very strong in this department, Declan Rice and Thomas Parte, leading the show in the two legs of this quarter -final of the Champions League.
The men of Carlo Ancelotti, on the other hand, seemed to lack something there, with Zubimenddi may be ideal to finally give Los Blancos a long-term replacement of Toni Kroos.
Kroos retired at the end of last season, and Madrid no longer has someone with his range of midfielders.
Zubimenddi could give them this, but Arsenal will also want the 26 -year -old player as a long -term ideal replacement for the veteran midfielder Jorginho, who will be a free agent this summer.
