Notably, the BCCI has officially announced that the next season of IPL will begin on March 23 and the final is scheduled for May 25. Rajeev Shuklavice-president of the BCCI, made the announcement at a press conference after an extraordinary general meeting held in Mumbai.
Eden Gardens, the emblematic ground of Calcutta Knights Riders (KKR)was selected to host both the tournament opener and the final. This continues the tradition of defending champions hosting key matches at their venue. KKR clinched the IPL 2024 title, taking home the honor for the upcoming season.

Mega Auctions and Calendar Updates
Before the mega auction in November, the IPL board had taken a revolutionary step by sharing tournament windows for the next three seasons (2025-2027) with all franchises. The 2025 season is assigned a window of March 15 to May 25.
To adapt to the international schedule, in particular the ICC Champions Trophy final scheduled for March 9, the IPL has ensured a two-week buffer before the league kicks off. The finalized start date of March 23 gives teams and players ample time to prepare after the global tournament.
