Tamil cinema icon Ajith Kumar, who is in the spotlight after his team recently clinched third place in the Dubai 24 Hour race, has shared some safety tips that ‘good Samaritans’ should follow when They help victims of road accidents.
Ajith stressed that it is essential to prioritize the safety and well-being of those involved and not take matters into our own hands. The actor believes that when you see a victim of a road accident, it is better not to pick them up like a rag doll and “push them into a car or a taxi”. Instead, call an ambulance and wait for the paramedics to arrive, he said in an interaction with Gulf News.
Sharing a personal anecdote, he said, “This happened to a very close friend of mine, who met with a car accident in Pune and the locals around him thought they were very nice and good Samaritans; (they) picked him up, he had broken a vertebra… the poor guy is now confined to a wheelchair. I’m not trying to say that we need to educate people, but we need to tell them that “you don’t just run up to an accident victim on the road, pick them up like a rag doll and throw them away.” push in a car or taxi’.
