It now appears that “Tweaker” may have been the key to Ball landing a seven-figure recording contract with Def Jam and Universal Music Group.

LiAngelo Ball reportedly got THIS MUCH in record deal
Shams Charania, ESPN reporter news shared of the alleged recording contract via X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, January 13. Charania revealed that sources valued the deal at $13 million, with $8 million guaranteed. Additionally, LiAngelo Ball will retain ownership of his music and his label, Born To Ball Music Group, by Genie. Also, Charania’s report said LiAngelo already had a second song to follow “Tweaker.”
Social Media Reacts to Alleged Recording Deal
LiAngelo has transitioned from professional basketball to music in recent months. He is the second child of the Ball brothers, the elder Lonzo and the younger LaMelo. Although both of his brothers play in the NBA, he has been unable to remain on an active roster beyond short stints with the Pistons and Hornets and the G League’s Greensboro Swarm.
For context, “Tweaker” was released on January 3, and within five days it reportedly made the top 10 songs streamed on Spotify, according to ESPN. On this same platform, the song also has more than 1.3 million plays.
In The Shade Room’s IG comments section, housemates mocked the stated value of LiAngelo Ball’s deal. The mother of Ball’s son, Miss Nikkii Babycommented, “Yes, I am so happy for my love.”
