An Everton player could leave the club this month, David Moyes has confirmed following his side’s defeat to Aston Villa on Wednesday.
Everton looking for striker
With relegation from the Premier League an increasingly real possibility for the Toffees this season, the new owners decided to act, sacking Sean Dyche and appointing David Moyes in the Goodison Park dugout.

With that, they are also expected to make funds available for the January transfer window, with David Ornstein explaining that a few new faces were expected on Merseyside this month.
“Funds are being made available by the new owner, The Friedkin Group, led by Dan and Ryan Friedkin, but they still have to comply with the rules of profitability and sustainability. There is work to be done there. I think that we might see a ‘A few new faces coming in, certainly on the offensive side, maybe one for now, ready to spring into action. Maybe one for the future too. “
Now reports are linking the Toffees with a move for free agent Willian, as well as a new striker, with Tom Cannon and Evan Ferguson among those mooted with a move to Goodison Park, and David Moyes calls for more firepower the day after the defeat against Aston Villa.
“I can clearly see that we are missing a level of quality that would give us chances, make us score more goals or score more goals, which we would like to address if we can do it,” he explained afterwards the match. But first, Everton could be forced to cut short a player’s stay at Goodison Park.
Everton set to end Broja loan
This comes in the form of on-loan Chelsea striker Armando Broja, who has arrived injured and encountered another serious problem which could lead to the end of his loan spell. The Albanian was signed for the 24/25 campaign on an initial loan with an option to buy, but injury meant he only made his debut in December and managed just 158 minutes of action in the Premier League.
Former Everton manager Frank Lampard was full of praise for the Albanian: “He’s fast, strong, has a real eye for goal and he’s a very, very good young player.”
However, he didn’t get the chance to show it at Goodison Park and now a new problem means he may never be able to.
Stretched during the FA Cup third round win over Peterborough United, he is now set for another extended absence, leaving Moyes to admit his loan deal could be cut short.
“We think he will be out for between 10 and 12 weeks. It’s his ankle ligaments. That will probably mean there is a possibility he will have to return to Chelsea.” revealed the Everton boss.

The Toffees want to recruit a midfielder.
Such a time frame would see him miss the majority of the rest of the season, but his return to Chelsea will open up more options this month for Everton. Indeed, they will be able to sign another Premier League player on loan amid links with Evan Ferguson, while they will also be free to Broja’s £40,000 weekly salarywhich could enable much-needed additional investment elsewhere.
