Barcelona would consider a surprise transfer movement for the striker of Crystal Palace, Jean-Philippe Mateta for this summer.
The Frenchman has been in good shape for the Eagles in the past year, although he is not necessarily someone you expect to see linked to the biggest names in club European football.
However, it seems that Barca now has Mateta on his list for next season because they need a replacement for the aging of Robert Lewandowski, according to a report from Spanish Fichajes.
Mateta turned out to be a late flomer in the game, and he may have an impact in a big club like Barcelona, even as a team player.
After 32 goals in his last 67 games for Palace, we imagine that there could be some other big clubs which are seriously starting to consider Mateta too.
The transfer of Jean-Philippe Mateta could be another concern for Crystal Palace
Palace does not have the best season, so they might be likely to lose some of their best players in summer.
Mateta will surely be one that they must worry, while others to watch could be Ebelechi Eze, Marc Guehi and Adam Wharton.
The Eagles must do their best to keep this team together if they have to bounce and develop properly under Oliver Glasner, but it will surely be very delicate when Barcelona comes to call.
Mateta can very well enjoy his football right now, but the chance to move to the Nou camp is the dream of many young footballers, and the opportunity may not arise again.
It will be interesting to see if Palace can keep Mateta and other stars names this summer, or if they accept, it is time to move them and rebuild their team.
