The partnership will allow the South Korean technology to use Chatgpt for its artificial intelligence services.
Openai chief Sam Altman has signed an agreement with the South Korea technology giant Kakao, while Californian society is looking for new alliances after its Chinese rival Deepseek rocked the World Industry ‘Ia.
Kakao, who has an online bank, the largest Taxi application in South Korea and Kakaotalk, announced on Tuesday a partnership allowing him to use Chatgpt for his new artificial intelligence services, joining a global alliance led by Openai medium in the intensification of competition in the sector.
Altman’s company is part of the Stargate Drive, announced by US President Donald Trump, who seeks to invest up to $ 500 billion in AI infrastructure in the United States.
But the newcomer to the Deepseek AI sent Silicon Valley to a frenzy, some calling for its high performance and supposed at low cost for American developers.
“We are delighted to bring advanced AI to the millions of Kakao users and work together to integrate our technology into services that transform how Kakao users communicate and connect,” Altman told Seoul.
“Kakao has an in-depth understanding of how technology can enrich daily life,” he added.
Kakao CEO, Shina Chung, said that the company was “delighted” to establish a “strategic collaboration” with Openai.
Altman meetings were also meetings with two best manufacturers of South Korean flea, Samsung and SK Hynix, both key suppliers of advanced semiconductors used in AI servers.
Altman met the president of the group SK Chey Tae-Won and the CEO of SK Hynix, Kwak Noh-Jung, in Seoul to discuss the collaboration on the memory chips of the AI, including the high bandwidth memory ( HBM) and the services of AI.
He should also meet the president of Samsung Electronics, Lee Jae-Yong, later Tuesday on Tuesday.
Jaejune Kim, executive vice-president of Samsung’s memory affairs, said last week that the company “monitored industry trends by considering various scenarios” when they were asked about Deepseek.
Deepseek’s performance has aroused accusations that she has reversed the ability to direct American technology, such as the AI Poloding chatgpt.
Openai warned last week that Chinese companies are actively trying to reproduce its advanced AI models, which caused closer cooperation with the American authorities.
OPENAI says that rivals use a process known as the distillation in which developers creating smaller models learn from the greatest their behavior and their decision -making model – similar to a student learning a teacher.
The company is itself confronted with several accusations of intellectual property violations, mainly linked to the use of material protected by copyright to train its generative AI models.
