The American army led coordinated air strikes against Islamic State agents in Somalia, the first attacks of the African nation during the second term of President Trump.
Trump said in an article on Truth on Social on Saturday that he had ordered “precision military air strikes on the senior attack planner and other terrorists he recruited and directed in Somalia”.
“These killers, which we found hiding in caves, threatened the United States and our allies,” continued the post. “The strikes have destroyed the caves in which they live and have killed many terrorists without, in any way, to harm civilians.”
Saturday, defense secretary Pete Hegseth said the strikes of the American African command were led by Trump and coordinates with the Somali government.
“Our initial assessment is that several agents have been killed in air strikes and that no civilian was injured,” HegSeth said in a statement.

Trump did not identify the Islamic State planner or said if this person was killed in the strike.
