The vice-captain of England, Harry Brook, surprisingly decided to withdraw from the whole season of the 2025 IPL. The decision to withdraw only a few days before the IPL was surprised a lot. The former captain of England Nasser Hussain spoke of this question and speculated the reason behind.
Hussain feels that Harry Brook already has a lot on his plate because he is one of the few all-format crickets for England. Jos Buttler having abandoned the captain, Brook is also considered to be the candidate for the role of the white ball captain of England.
In recent years, Brook has grown up in stature and has turned into a pillar of the striker department for all formats. However, his sudden distance from the IPL was a sudden shock for his fans.

Nasser Hussain reveals why Harry Brook withdrew
While speaking to Sky Sports, Nasser Hussain speculated the reason behind Harry Brook withdrawing from IPL 2025. He thinks that Brook already has a lot on his plate and he could have had a conversation with the director general of England, Rob Key, the captain of England.
“I think it could be a sign (to withdraw from IPL 2025). Rob Key may have spoken to him and said to him:” You have a lot on your plate. Maybe we want you to captain. “Who knows? He has a lot on his plate, said Hussain.
“He missed the last for personal family reasons. He can just think it’s okay, I’m going to focus on the test of test match,” said the former Skipper of England.
England will play a series of five -game tests against India at home from June 2025. They will then go to Australia for an ASHES series outside. Brook is likely to play a key role in both series.
Nasser Hussain expects Harry Brook to come back in form
Nasser Hussain also said that Rob Key and Brook have already had a conversation on the latter’s workload. He expects Brook soon to come back in rhythm because he was resting from the IPL.
“I would be surprised if Rob Key had not yet had a conversation with him and asked what you think of your workload in the coming year and that it was perhaps the conversation. Only Rob Key and Harry Brook will know,” said Hussain.
“But he rested and, hopefully, he will come back in rhythm, find a shape and he would be standing and would pull for two series of absolutely vital tests to come,” added the old striker of England.
Harry Brook withdraws from IPL 2025
Harry Brook withdrew from IPL for the second successive season. He was to play for the Capitals of Delhi this season after being excited for 6.25 crores inr by the franchise. Brook’s decision was sent by the BCE to the BCCI last week, which then informed Delhi capitals.
There is a strong possibility that Brook will be prohibited for two years to participate in IPL according to the new rules of the IPL. The IPL has not yet made official, but Brook clearly indicated on social networks that it needs a little time to refresh from a busy schedule.
