While families gathered in front of a hospital for updates, Tomco Stojanov had already received the new devastator. Her 25 -year -old Andrej son was killed on Sunday in a nightclub fire that killed dozens, many of whom trampled during a desperate attempt to escape.
“Thank you for your condolences, but my pain is incurable. The injury is incurable,” said Stojanov, holding a photo of his son, clean shaved and carrying a costume jacket.
Northern Macedonia is struggling with the loss of dozens of young lives in the nightclub of Sunday Inferno in the eastern city of Kocani, while trying to keep those responsible for accounting and preventing another calamity.
The fire torn the pulse of the overcrowded club during a live concert, killing 59 people and more than 150 injured from Burns, smoke inhalation and trampling in panic escape towards the unique exit of the building. The Minister of Health, Arben Taravari, said that around 20 of the wounded were in critical condition.
The videos showed a sparkling pyrotechnic on the stage by hitting the club ceiling and triggering the fire as a played group.
The fire that rocked the nation by two million – where family -wide family obligations made a personal disaster for many – was the last in a series of fatal nightclub fires in the world. So young people have been 16 years old among the victims and the nation said seven days of mourning.
“We are all in shock, and I myself am shocked: as a mother, as a person, as president,” said North Macedonian President Gordana Davkova Siljanovska, in a speech to the nation on Sunday evening.
Late Sunday, the residents of Kocani held a candlelit vigil to support the families of mourning, awaiting long lines to light up the candles of the church.
Violations of the Security Code
The authorities say that they investigate allegations of corruption surrounding the nightclub that has been filled with young revelers and double -capacity. And the government of northern Macedonia ordered a three -day inspection to do in all nightclubs and cabarets across the country, from Monday.
The state prosecutor, LJUPCO KOCEVSKI, said that a preliminary inspection of the nightclub had revealed many violations of the security code, including a lack of emergency exits, an insufficient number of fire extinguishers and an inappropriate access for emergency vehicles.
The fire caused partially collapse of the roof of the upper building, revealing the charred remains of wooden beams and debris.

“Omissions are significant. I can say with confidence that this is a system failure,” the prosecutor told journalists, also noting the absence of an overload system and fire alarms and the use of flammable materials to line the interior walls.
The country was in mourning while people were looking at heartbreaking scenes in the city of 25,000 inhabitants, where rescuers for hours carried out their disaster task to remove the charred bodies from the clubs.
A state coroner said that the bodies were brought to the identification in batch of Morgues due to the high number of people killed.
Officials said 10 people remain in police custody for Kocani, about 115 kilometers east of the capital, Skopje. The Minister of the Interior, Panche Toshkovski, added that a preliminary inspection revealed that the club worked without appropriate license. He said the number of people inside the club was at least double his official capacity of 250.
The condolences flocked from the leaders of Europe as well as the office of the Pope hospitalized François.

Neighboring countries and neighbors – Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia and Türkiye – as well as a number of others have already accepted around fifty patients with the most serious injuries.
“All the patients who have been transferred abroad are currently in a stable state. We hope that it will remain so and that we will receive positive news from abroad,” said Taravari.
