Apple’s vision on smart glasses could arrive next year, according to a report Bloomberg THURSDAY. Although the description of specifications is very similar to what Meta and Google do in this area, Apple has the reputation of avant-garde and emblematic products that could help to distinguish it because it plays catch-up.
The glasses should be shipped at the end of 2026 with cameras, microphones and speakers, as well as a multimodal AI which could respond to requests via Siri and which can “see” and analyze the wearer environment, Bloomberg reported.
The report comes just two days after the Google IS / S conference, where the company revealed more details on its Android XR platform, alongside partners such as Warby Parker, to create smart glasses.
Apple’s smart glasses would be distinct from the company’s vision pro VR helmet, a well -revised but voluminous and expensive product that has failed to resume consumers.
The Bloomberg report also said that Apple deletes plans to put a camera in its Apple Watch devices.
Apple did not immediately respond to the CNET comment request.
Will Apple’s intelligent glasses be simply the same?
According to the report, Apple’s smart glasses will be delivered with cameras, microphones and speakers, which are all necessary for rumor that the functionality of AI should come from them. The wearer can perform several actions that you can do on a smartphone today, such as controlling the music reading and asking Siri questions.
However, the intelligence of AI will launch it by being able to see what the user does, a bit like the Google Camera Gemini Live mode and what can currently be available with Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses. But as for the Siri fueled in Ai that we are still waiting patiently, Apple’s smart glasses could be something special if the device is eating.
Apple plans to start producing prototypes by the end of the year, according to anonymous people close to the question quoted by Bloomberg. The hand -free device should also be shipped with a dedicated chip that Apple designed specifically for the product.
Apple aims at augmented reality above all
Apparently, this particular pair of glasses is not Apple’s true ambition. The report indicates that Apple’s ultimate objective is to create a pair of augmented reality glasses and that this product is only an important step on this subject. Although augmented reality has existed for some time now, an appropriate implementation in Smart Glasses is something that we have not yet seen, but we know that it happens.
It is far from the first time that we have heard of Apple’s search to create AR glasses or a product to have an effect with meta rays. Apple generally has no problem behind the market with its products, so it is fair to assume that it does not rush into what could be a solid product segment for this.
