Manchester City unveiled the club’s new home shirt for the 2025/26 season, incorporating a white belt into the traditional sky jersey.
The belt has good memories of the history of the city, appearing for the first time on outside kits in the 1970s and honored in other conceptions of change in the 1990s, 2000 and 2010.
But in what Puma calls “to create a connection to the past with a futuristic design” and “fill the gap between different generations of city fans” is the first chassis never seen on a home shirt.
“The kits contain special memories for players and fans. The belt has always been a loved design whose people remember affectionately, and I am delighted to see it come back this year, on a home kit,” commented the legend of the city Mike Summerbee on the outing.
“It was also an honor to be part of the launching video of the kit. I hope that fans around the world will appreciate the video and that this kit brings more special memories for the club.”
Available in authentic, carried by players and in charge of the latest technologies and replicas versions, the latter is manufactured using at least 95% of recycled textile waste.
City will finish the current Premier League season, as well as the FA Cup final of this weekend, in the 2024/25 strip, but the new design will then be used during the FIFA club World Cup.
Their first match in the competition will be against Wydad from Morocco on June 18 in Philadelphia.
