The United States Embassy in kyiv warned an “potentially significant” air attack on Friday in the coming days.
“The United States Embassy in kyiv has received information about a potentially important air attack that can occur at any time in the coming days,” said the Embassy on its website.
“The embassy, as always, recommends that American citizens will be ready to take shelter immediately in the event that an air alert is announced.”
The alert was issued one day after US President Donald Trump repeated his 30-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, warning additional sanctions against those who violate him.
Questioned by journalists from the oval office on Friday if he had a message for Russia in the light of the United States Embassy, Trump told the “two parties” to “finish this stupid war”.

While Ukraine said that it was ready to immediately adopt the ceasefire, Russia only proposed three-day cease-fire this week-a truce that said that Ukraine said Russia has violated hundreds of times thanks to continuous attacks.
Trump had a “very good and productive” call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday, said the White House, adding that Trump hopes that Ukraine and Russia will agree next week at the cease-fire offered by 30 days.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, speaking to journalists during a white house briefing on Friday, also reiterated that a Trump meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin next week in the Middle East was not going to occur.
In kyiv, Zelenskyy’s Chief of Staff, Andriy Yermak, said that he spoke by phone on Friday with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other cease-fire officials proposed as part of the moves to a peace agreement.
“The main objective was the question of the ceasefire and the prospects for a peace regulation,” wrote Yermak on Telegram, adding that American envoys Steve Witkoff and Keith Kellogg had also participated. The Ukrainian Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, was also present.
“There was also the importance of implementing the points on which our presidents agreed,” wrote Yermak.
Zelenskyy said on Friday that kyiv will organize a meeting of European leaders of the so-called “Coalition of the Willing” on Saturday.
