Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James left the match with a groin injury in a 10 -point defeat against the Boston Celtics.
Jayson Tatum collected 40 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, helping the Boston Celtics to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers on visit 111-101 in a match where LeBron James left the competition with an injury.
Jaylen Brown added 31 points and six rebounds for the Celtics, which also received 14 points and nine rebounds from Al Horford during the successful confrontation on Saturday evening between the two most winning franchises in the NBA.
James, who had 22 points and 14 rebounds for the Lakers, left the match with a vintage tension with 6:44 to play in the fourth quarter and did not return.
James, 40, told journalists that the injury would be treated “daily” and added that there was “not much concern”.
Luka Donnic led the Lakers with 34 points and eight rebounds. He made five of the 10 three -point attempts.
Austin Reaves was the only other laker to have marked two -digit with 16 points.
Los Angeles dragged 22 points in the second half, but was less than four points after two Doncic free throws made 96-92 with 5:06 to play. The Lakers failed to get closer, and Boston was able to move away to ensure victory.
The defeat ended the sequence of eight consecutive victories of the Lakers. They fell in third place from the West Conference with a file of 41-22.
Boston improved at 46-18 to stay second from the Eastern Conference, seven and a half games behind the Cleveland leaders.
