Benfica’s left back, Alvaro Carreras insisted that he remains satisfied with the Portuguese team in the middle of its Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid services.
Carreras, 21, joined Benfica this summer when his loan from United, where he was better known as Alvaro Fernandez, was made permanent for 5 million pounds sterling, and his impressive performance saw his transfer value develop rapidly in the past six months.
Barcelona and Madrid were both warned that it would take more than 40 million pounds sterling to sign Carreras, but United would have a buyout of only 17 million pounds sterling that former manager Erik Ten Hag called on ‘Use before being relieved of its functions.
The iteration of United from Ruben Amorim also goes to the back left, with Patrick Dorgu de Lecce currently the best target, but the Red Devils could consider triggering their option to re-sigate Carreras.
However, after grasping a decisive pass in the hectic defeat of Benfica 5-4 against Barcelona in the middle of the week, Carreras suggested that he was not in a hurry to leave his current team.
“You never know, but I have a contract for many years here in Benfica, I am happy,” he said. “They gave me the opportunity to grow and I owe them everything.”
The two Spanish giants should postpone their activities from a new left back to the summer transfer window. Madrid had continued Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich, but the international of Canada seems to sign a new contract.
Barcelona had also been linked to Davies, with a multitude of other high -level players linked to a visit to Catalunya despite the continuous financial problems of the club. Marcus Rashford of Manchester United is one of those targets, while the Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic was presented as a potential target if the club was to replace the goal of the Robert Lewandowski lens.
