Can Syria keep its promises? Since the fall of Assad last December, the new Damascus leaders have summoned a national day of dialogue conference. On paper, the results are promising: transitional justice, inclusive democracy and disarmament of the many militias in the country in favor of a unified national army. We will explore how it can be done – and how far the West is ready to go now that the EU has lifted sanctions. With the current air strikes in Israel and its requests for Syrian soldiers to withdraw from the heights of Golan, how can the international community support stability and peace in a country that is desperately looking for it?
