Archie Gray thinks that Tottenham has a main opportunity to end their expectations of 17 years by winning the Europa League this season.
Despite a difficult national campaign – which sees the 13th seated spurs in the Premier League and eliminated from the two national cup competitions – European success remains a realistic target.
Many bookmakers are currently assessing Tottenham as a favorite to raise the Europa League trophy, with their latest confrontation against Az Alkmaar which will start next week.
Gray, 18, was an out -of -competition interpreter in what was a difficult season for the Spurs. His efforts were recognized Thursday when he was appointed young player of the year for men at the London Football Awards.
Speaking after receiving his award, Gray opened the long drought of the club trophy, which dates back to his triumph of the 2008 League Cup.
“This is not something we are talking about because we know that the opportunity we have is golden, especially in the Europa League, with the team we have and people who come back from injury, we know that we can change this [trophy record]Said Gray.

“We are just focusing on the next game and we are swept away. That [winning the Europa League] is definitely the objective but we have not prevailed. This is the next match of the Europa League, but we only take each match at a time. »»
Since he went from Leeds United last summer, Gray has made 35 appearances, often playing out of position as a central back rather than in his role as a favorite midfielder.
The international in England under 21 has also praised the influence of the captain of the Heung-Min club, creating him to help him settle in the Spurs.
“He is definitely a world class player and as a person, he is probably one of the nicest I have ever met,” added Gray.
“Since I was moved to the club, he has always sat down and had breakfast with me every morning who, for a new player at the club – you watch players like Sonny, Madders [James Maddison]All in the team to be fair – you don’t really expect them to get four to talk to the new 18 -year -old who just comes from a championship club.
“To be just with them, they helped me settle very well and everyone was incredible with me.”
