The long -standing brand key between real estate heirs Abhishek and Abhinandan Lodha took a personal turn, with their mother, Manju Lodha, working to urge a resolution.
In a letter dated February 21, she reminded her sons the 2017 family agreement, appealing to the binding document which should settle their differences.
The conflict focuses on the use of the “Lodha” brand, with the Macrotech developers listed by Abhishek Lodha who continue the house of Abhinandan Lodha (Hoabl) for an alleged violation of the brand. Macrotech says Hoabl abused Lodha’s name, creating the confusion of the brand and deceiving consumers.
The trial, deposited at the High Court of Bombay, requests 5,000 strikes of damages. The legal case refers to two family agreements – 2017 and 2023 – of which, according to Macrotech, establish that the name of Lodha and all intellectual properties belongs exclusively to Macrotech.
The agreements indicate that Abhinandan must develop a separate brand identity for his businesses, a condition that he would have raped by asking for similar brands, offering the name of Lodha on Google and using the brand in advertisements.
In his letter, Manju remembers the brothers’ childhood, when they were affectionately called “Ram and Lakshman”, emphasizing their link once unseparable. She has published six commandments, exhorting them to refrain from talking about evil, avoid conflicts, recognize the separate property of companies, to make no financial request from each other, to respect trade borders and to end all disputes while supporting each other.
She stressed that the 2017 family agreement remains final, confirming that none of the two brother has rights to the business, assets or shareholding of the other.
Abhishek Lodha answered his mother’s call, declaring: “I respect my mother’s letter and I will respect him. The 2017 Agreement clearly stipulates that the Lodha real estate company and its DPI, including the trade name “Lodha”, belongs and will be exclusively used by Macrotech / Lodha developers. I wish my younger brother, Abhinandan, all success in his business. I hope it puts an end to this dispute by implementing the 2017 agreement and begins to use a distinct and distinct identity which leads to no confusion with our very recognized and precious brand name – Lodha. »»
