Andy Cole supported Wayne Rooney by saying that Manchester United is no longer an attractive option for elite players.
Rooney recently declared that he would not sign for United today despite being the club record scorer after a wonderful 13 -year -old fate with the Old Trafford Club.
And Cole, who won five Premier League crowns and the Champions League with United under Sir Alex Ferguson, admitted that he agreed with Rooney’s point of view.
The former English international said Betmgm: “I saw what Wayne [Rooney] said and I can come from where it comes from.
“If you have five best players who could possibly be in motion in summer and you have all the big clubs who watch them, what attracts these players to Manchester United?”
“Currently, all the other major clubs have football in the Champions League and are competing for their respective leagues. Manchester United will probably end up in their lowest league position for ages and could easily have football in the Champions League. »»
You get a blow – Cole
He added: “As a professional footballer, you get a safe blow and when you arrive at a certain age, you want to play in the biggest competition in Europe and you want to participate in titles in the biggest leagues in the world.
“If someone does not give you that, like Manchester United at the moment, you are looking elsewhere – it’s just a fact.
“Wayne has no excavation, he simply says how it is.”
United is in the middle of another disappointing season and sat 14th in the Premier League had collapsed from FA Cup in Fulham this weekend.
Ruben Amorim has had little impact since his replacement of Erik Ten Hag in the canoe, but hoped better when he goes to San Sebastián this evening to face the Real Sociedad during the first leg of their Europa League, in the round of 16.
