After pushing a great sigh of relief on Thursday evening, Tottenham Hotspur from Ange Postcoglou makes the short trip through the capital for his next League outing.
The success of the Spurs campaign focuses on their progression in Europe. This is the case since they lost in Villa Park in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Their remaining outings in the Premier League could simply be considered a preparation for the next links in the Europa League, with Eintracht then in the quarterfinals after Az Alkmaar was bypassed in the last 16.
Fulham is the next before the international break, with Postcoglou held to turn after Thursday’s victory.
Here’s how Spurs could line up at Craven Cottage.
GK: Guglielmo Vicario – Vicario has been impressive since his return from injury, even if clean leaves were difficult to find. The Italian will remain in the side Sunday.
RB: Pedro Porro – The Spaniard did not have the best of the seasons, but produced a solid defensive display during the week and Postcoglou was not particularly ready to get it out of his 12th term.
CB: Cristian Romero – After his start to the nightmare against Bournemouth, Romero is more alike in the week. The Argentinian should make another departure before the international break – 180 minutes of football for world champions are an inevitability.
CB: Ben Davies – Thursday, Mick Van de Ven proved its importance for the postcoglou team, but it was removed on time with the boss wishing to manage his minutes. Given the rapid turnaround and the availability of Davies, the Dutchman could appear on the bench.
LB: Destiny Udogie – Djed Spence could fall on the bench given his recent workload, and Udogy was an unused substitute during the return match against AZ. It will be fresh for the weekend.
CM: Yves Bissouma – The International of Mali did a decent job by seeing the competition Thursday, making a crucial block at 3-1. While Lucas Bergvall looks like the best option at midfielder, he could rest on Sunday.
CM: Rodrigo Bentancur – Bentancur was suspended for the return match, and although he had trouble training this season, his inclusion is logical since Pape Matar Sarr has succeeded 90 minutes in the middle of the week.
CM: James Maddison – Do not expect Maddison to play the entire Sunday fight, but it is very necessary from a creative point of view in the absence of Dejan Kulusvski.
RW: Wilson Odobert – Life is just a little easier when you have a winger who can beat his man in head. Odobert was the hero on Thursday, marking twice, and Postcoglou should give young French people the opportunity to rely on the winned momentum.
ST: Dominic Solanke – The Sustainable Solanke only recently returned from a knee injury, but Spurs find it difficult to function without international England leading the line. He recorded a pair of assists in the 3-1 victory on Thursday.
LW: Mathys Tel – This was an unused substitute in consecutive matches after a slow start to his Spurs career. Bayern Munich Lorinee is better suited to play widely in northern London, and it could return to the XI with his son Heung-Min on the bench.
