My first hero,” wrote Kevin via Instagram. “The words we heard from your news in your last chapter were how blessed you have been to have such a loving family. And in return how much you liked your wife and children. Your only wish was to be at home surrounded by your family when you got your dying breath. This breath came. And now it’s time to rest. “
Kevin described his father as a “greater teacher” before thanking him to be an example of “admirable qualities such as respect and kindness”, in addition to “ambition and work ethics”.
“I cry the times I felt angry and isolated-my heart weighs heavy knowing that we have lost this time and that we cannot recover it,” he continued. “But our division led me to find myself. I was running out of something but that moment provided the wisdoms of forgiveness and reconciliation. And an unwavering feeling that he loved to me through all this, every moment. ”
Kevin noted that the “greatest gift” that his father had offered to him was “to teach me that healing occurs in your soul and that healing is there for taking, even in the face of imminent death”.
“Like all of us, my father was imperfect.
