Nintendo declared relatively low sales of 1,164.9 billion yen for its year ended on March 31, 2025, down 30.3%, against 1,671.8 billion yen a year earlier.
But the company was optimistic about its Switch 2 forecasts, because it expects 15 million Switch 2 equipment units to sell during the financial year ending on March 31, 2026 and 45 million copies of the Switch 2 software. During the same period, it plans to sell 4.5 million units of the switch and 105 million Switch games.
It is not surprising that the results are down, because Nintendo saw its sales of equipment falling in anticipation of future sales of the Nintendo Switch 2 hybrid console, which begins on June 5.
Nintendo’s net profit for the financial year was 278.8 billion yen, down 43.2% against 490.6 billion yen a year earlier.

The company’s dedicated video game platform activity fell 30.9% and the mobile income linked to the IP fell by 27%. Exchange rates added 43.3 billion yen to net sales.
Nintendo sold 10.8 million switch equipment units during the 2010 financial year, compared to 15.7 million equipment units during the fiscal year 24. And it sold 155.4 million games in FY5, against 199.67 million games in FY24.

The big sellers of the year were 7.48 million copies of Super Mario Party Jamboree, 6.23 million copies of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, 4.09 million copies of the Zelda legend: Echoes of Wisdom and 3.16 million copies of Nintendo Switch Sports.
