Chappell Roan aroused controversy with his comments on parenting during a recent interview.
On “Call your dad” Podcast last week, Roan was asked to be close to friends in his hometown, recognizing that they have “very different lives”.
“Many of them are married to children, and they have their own houses, and for me, I am like, I don’t know when it will happen for me. I don’t know when it’s realistic, or never,” she said.
The host Alex Cooper asked if being married to children was something she wanted, and Roan replied that she was not sure, especially if she married a female partner.

As for the children, she said: “All my friends who have children are in hell. I don’t know anyone, I actually know no one who is happy and who has children at this age.”
She continued, saying that of her friends who have children aged 5 and less: “I have not met anyone who is happy, whoever has light in the eyes, whoever slept.”
Roan joked that she wondered why her parents had children, sharing that she has the oldest of four and her mother had her at 23.
Cooper asked how her friends interact with her now that she was famous, and Roan replied: “They are mothers. They are busy and they have jobs and lives. I’m just their friend.”

She added: “They are so nice and so favorable and released shows, and they have to get babysitters to come to my shows.”
Some online fans were not too satisfied with Roan’s comments on being a parent.
“All my friends who have children are in hell. I don’t know anyone who is happy and has children at this age.”
A fan wrote on X: “I lovee chappell roan dowwwnn. But his comment on this subject reinforces the stigma that if you complain about maternity, you must hate your life and your children. Maternity is difficult, not miserable and that we do not hate our children.”
Another estimated that she insulted her friends of the hometown, saying: “Chappell Roan in progress” Call her dad “by saying that none of her friends with children is happy is an excellent example of the reason why you can only let out with anyone because I guarantee that she has this prospect because some of her mothers friends are going through women without children with a feeling of loyalty.

Another said: “It looks like someone who has never had children and therefore has no relevant opinion to give.”
A person noted that Roan is still young and perhaps slightly immature, writing: “Have you noticed the level of maturity of the majority of people his age? They can barely take care of themselves. They do not yet need to have babies.”
Another seemed to defend himself for the writing of the pop star: “Chappell Roan said that all his friends who have children at 27 are in hell. It is his experience. It was not a universal statement. Society is much more critical of women who decide not to have children than for mothers.
Some have even found his comment useful, such as a fan on X who said: “People are real about Chappell Roan at the moment. I actually think that more people should talk about the disadvantages of parenting. People should be 100% sure they want to have children before bringing children to the world. We will have fewer abused and neglected children.”
