The SPFL revealed that there is “no reasonable prospect of reaching a consensus” around the plans aimed at restructuring the Scottish Minister.
He followed a meeting of the Competition Working Group (CWG), where the reconstruction of the League was discussed.
Sky Sports News It was unlikely that the proposals on a flight greater than 10 teams will receive sufficient support – but to keep the current first format of 12 clubs, as well as models of 14 or 16 larger teams would be discussed.
Although no modification made to the Premierhip should go ahead, Sky Sports News Understands that there was a large agreement on the increase in the size of the Scottish championship, Ligue 1 and League two.
Currently, the three divisions below the elite have 10 teams, but it could grow, with other talks that take place.
A SPFL statement said: “The SPFL’s competition group met on April 29 to discuss the possibility of restructuring the league.
“It has been agreed that there was no reasonable prospect of reaching a consensus around a new format for the Première of William Hill.
“However, there was a large agreement around potential changes at the William Hill Championship, in Ligue 1 and in Ligue two.
“These will be developed to carry out a consultation with clubs and other stakeholders.”
