Luis Rubiales was found guilty of kissing Spanish footballer Jenni Hermoso without his consent after the World Cup final in 2023.
The former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation caused a huge controversy when he caught Hermoso and kissed him to celebrate the victory of the Spanish national team over England in the 2023 final.
As indicated by the BbcRubiales was now found guilty and sentenced to a fine of € 10,000, despite himself, insisting that Hermoso had given him his consent before the kiss.
This sparked major demonstrations at the time, in what resulted in a time of too important to me in women’s football.
Hermoso has always maintained her position that she did not give the consent of rubials to kiss him on the lips, slamming the incident for having “stained one of the happiest days of my life”.
Luis Rubiales to avoid the prison sentence
The BBC report continues by saying that there had been calls for rubials to make time in prison, although it seems that it will only have to pay a fine.
Rubiales was also prohibited from all football activities for three years from 2023.
