Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has reportedly made the decision to offload right-back Max Aarons this January transfer window, with a loan move now being considered.
The 25-year-old defender, who joined the Cherries in 2023, has struggled to carve out a regular place in the starting XI, particularly this season where he has made just three appearances, with just one start and two replacements.
According to Daily MailBournemouth are willing to allow Aarons to go out on loan in search of more playing time.
The move comes amid growing interest from clubs across Europe, including France, Italy and Spain. Ligue 1 club Lille are said to be one of the interested parties, with Aarons attracting attention for his potential as an emerging talent.
Spanish club Valencia have also expressed keen interest in the right-back, according to reports from Statement which suggests they are in favor of a loan-to-purchase agreement. The La Liga club are reportedly negotiating a purchase option in the region of €8-9 million, a figure similar to that of pursuing another player, Ivan Fresneda. If successful, Aarons would move to Spain, giving him the opportunity to showcase his skills in La Liga.
Could Leeds United revisit interest in Max Aarons
Another club that could potentially revisit their interest in Aarons is Leeds United, who have been pursuing him since his time at Norwich City and were also heavily linked with a move for him last summer.
It was reported in the summer that Daniel Farke was working hard to sign him, having previously worked with him at Norwich City and being a big admirer of the player.
The duo enjoyed significant success together, with Aarons playing a pivotal role in helping Norwich gain promotion to the Premier League. A potential move to Leeds could be a great opportunity for Aarons to reignite his career under Farke, who remains firmly convinced of his abilities.
