Napoli won a 2-1 crucial victory against AC Milan at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona to move three points from the Serie A summit.
The first half goals of Matteo Politano and Romelu Lukaku proved to be sufficient for the Antonio Conte team, despite the late strike from Luka Jovic giving the hope of Rossoneri.
Conte could not have asked for a better start, his team finding the net just two minutes from the match. Giovanni Di Lorenzo jumped in front of his right rear position and delivered a pass to Politano, who perfectly timed his race before finishing Mike Maignan.
Milan, fighting to answer, found himself further in the 19th minute. Billy Gilmour presented his vision with a superb defense pass in Lukaku, which showed a large composure to lift the ball on Maignan and double the advantage of Napoli.
Visitors made changes to half-time, Rafael Leao coming to try to trigger their attack. The move has paid dividends while Milan was starting to create chances.
Their best opportunity arrived in the 69th minute when Leo combined with Theo Hernandez, drawing a fault in the penalty zone of Philip Billing. Santiago Gimenez intensified to kick, but Alex Meret produced an amazing stop to keep the advance of two goals from Napoli intact.

Milan refused to retreat and finally found a breakthrough in the 84th minute. Hernandez, influential on the left flank, delivered a low cross in the six -meter box, where Jovic reacted the fastest to direct the ball in the net.
While the match came in the time to stop, Milan continued to threaten. Leao was strongly involved, drawing a Di Lorenzo fault in a dangerous position, but the resulting free kick was well defended.
Chukwueze had a late shot blocked, and despite the productivity of their opponents in the expected goals (2.69 to 0.96), Milan could not find the second crucial goal.
The victory guarantees that Napoli remains in second place in Serie A, Milan, on the other hand, remains in ninth and will quickly focus on their confrontation in the semi-finals of Coppa Italia against Inter Wednesday before a meeting with the League with Fiorentina on Saturday.
